PIB begins CEO search after McManus steps down

PIB Group has launched its search for a successor to Brendan McManus, who announced his exit from the CEO position after serving for 11 years. The brokerage will see McManus transition into the role of chairman of the board, while an acting leadership council assumes responsibility for daily operations during the selection process. The company confirmed the successor search has already begun, ensuring minimal disruption as it prepares for the transition.
The interim executive office, led by Jo Payne, the chief people officer, includes Rob Houghton as chief operating officer, Alastair Hay as chief financial officer, Carl McMillan as general counsel, and Ryan Brown, who has been promoted to chief growth officer. This team will provide continuity as the company evaluates candidates for the permanent role. Brown’s new position shows PIB’s focus on maintaining its expansion momentum, particularly in international markets where growth has been a defining feature of McManus’ tenure.
McManus’ departure follows a period of significant expansion for PIB, which recorded pro-forma net revenue of £570.4 million in 2025. The firm now operates in 14 markets, demonstrating its global reach after a decade of development. The leadership council will now steer PIB’s ongoing growth, with particular emphasis on reinforcing its position in key regions while the search for a new CEO continues. The company’s international footprint has been built through targeted acquisitions and organic expansion, solidifying its status as a major player in the brokerage sector.
