Verisk names White to lead property claims unit

Verisk appointed Harry White to lead its Property Claim Services group, which provides independent industry-loss estimates for global catastrophe and non-catastrophe events.
White assumed the position after serving as the group’s Head of Commercial Strategy since 2025. Prior to that, he worked at Verisk and its AIR Worldwide risk modeling unit for nearly 14 years, focusing on catastrophe bonds and insurance-linked securities. His experience includes direct involvement with ILS markets and bond transactions.
White’s background in modeling and securities
The PCS group supplies data that triggers catastrophe bonds and industry-loss warranties. These estimates help insurers, reinsurers, and capital market participants evaluate risk and make decisions following major events.
Verisk stated that White’s promotion supports the group’s expansion beyond natural catastrophes into specialty events. His expertise in financial markets and risk analytics will guide this growth.
“Harry brings extensive knowledge of financial markets and a clear understanding of how insurers and bond market participants use risk analytics,” said Rob Newbold, president of Verisk Catastrophe and Risk Solutions. “His background, client relationships, and familiarity with reinsurance and ILS markets prepare him to lead PCS effectively.”

White joined AIR Worldwide in 2010, initially working in business development before shifting to ILS securities in 2016. He later analyzed catastrophe bond risk, assisted ILS fund managers, and helped adopt Verisk’s risk models in the reinsurance market.
In his new role, White will manage the delivery of catastrophe loss data while advancing how the group tracks and reports events.
“PCS has built trust with global insurers, reinsurers, and capital market participants by providing timely, reliable catastrophe loss information,” White said. “I look forward to expanding on that work as we improve the data and analytics that help the market make informed decisions and assess the impact of catastrophic events.”
White will speak at the Artemis London 2026 conference on September 1. There, he plans to discuss how secondary perils—such as frequent severe thunderstorms—are changing risk assessment for investors. In a recent conversation, he noted that these events, though smaller, occur often enough to influence market behavior.
The appointment fits Verisk’s strategy to strengthen ties with capital markets as ILS instruments grow more complex. While the group’s primary function remains loss estimation, its data now supports a broader range of financial products, including catastrophe bonds and parametric insurance solutions.
